#29262, "Need help with Fault Code 31 on '97 Non-Turbo"
Hey All, forgive me if this has been discussed before, extensive attempts at searching gave me nothing.
I'm not exactly a Mitsu-guy myself but I'm trying to help out my sister, she has and engine code of 31 coming up (it's supposedly the "Evaporative Purge Solenoid/Clogged Purge Line/Vacuum Hose/Evap. Emission Canister clogged"). I managed to squelch this about 6 months ago by taking off her snorkle, cleaning out the throttle body & another line that I cleaned out. Now it's back, can someone direct me as to what sensor/point of problem may be causing this and hopefully what to do with it.
Thanks in advance
Travis

The EVAP code is no fun. It can be any number of things. If you can find a way to pull the actual OBD2 code (autozone does this for free if there's one nearby) it can help in pinpointing the problem. Check all the vaccuum lines (especially the one above the throttle body, as this is the EVAP line) for cracks or loose fit, might also make sure the the gas cap is always on at least three clicks (and will actually hold vaccuum).. that's all i can think of for now, but feel free to check back later.
