#2911, "Engine Stuttering...."

this has been happening the past week or so. I would start the engine, and it would be fine. I put it in Drive and the RPM's dip down to 500 and the car starts to shake. Then after a few seconds of shaking, the rpm's shoot up to 1200 and stay. I would start to drive- have my foot on accelerator and the rpm's would stutter from 2,500 to 1300, back to 2500, back to 1300, then my car just "takes off" (back to normal)- When i stop at a light, sometimes it will shake and do the same thing, sometimes it wont. Doesnt happen all the time- maybe twice a day. Would it be TPS or maybe ISC?? No CEL. I have a 97 GS Automatic if that helps.
Thanks.....

could it be your trans converter lockup locking?? try driving with your overdrive off and see if your stuttering still comes...

Check your hoses for a vacuum leak, a small hole or bad connection can cause the problems you are experiencing.
