Alright I can get a test pipe (change my cat. converter into a straight pipe) for $35 bucks. But everytime I talk to the shop they always say, some new cars can't run properly or OH I don't recommend that at all. They'll still do it and all though. Question is, with my mods is it really worth it? Will I notice if the slightess difference? Also what are the likelihoods of the CEL coming on. Seems like every car is different with the CEL though

I'm in the same boat. The only difference is that any shop around here will get fined big bucks if they take the cat off and put the test pipe on. I will have to do it my self (I guess I will need to jack up both front tires) and I don't want to take the time if it won't help me. Also, I have talked to a few people, and they recommend me getting a resistor put in the piping so it doesn't sound raspy. Anyone have any more info on this (such as where the resistor would go and where I can get one). Thanks.

I would advise not to do it. You are not flowing enough to make use of a straight pipe, and your car WILL run funny without the cat.

Well ive gutted my cat and the car runs fine. In fact its better than ever. I say either get a test pipe, gut the cat, or get a high flo. While I was putting on my exhaust I even ran around my neighborhood without the exhaust from the headers back and it still ran great. It was loud enough to scare little children and make old ladies cry, but it ran well.
