#28833, "Clutch or tranny problem...Help!"

Hey guys I have been hearing a weird sound from my clutch when I go in reverse, first gear and at times second when I engage at low rpms. It's like a shuddering shake noise. Today shifting along with that noise another problem. When I shift in 1st & 2nd at over 3K as I press down I hear like a grind almost growl noise. Anyone have an idea what this can be? After and in third gear no problems. I called up the shop that installed my clutch but I won't be able to have them check it till Wed. I want to now if it's safe to drive. This clutch has small oil leaks none that show up on the pavement only around it and it's only been on 1,000 miles. Please help!!!

I say your clutch pedal is out of adjustment. It should engage approx 2 inches off the floor. If the pedal has to come up higher you might be slipping the clutch. If it engages less than an inch off the floor, it might not be releasing all the way.

all that said, I thought I had a transmission or axle problem. When I started out in any gear the car would rattle like I was griding gears or something. Turns out it was a missing rear motor mount bolt and my lower brace under the car has loose bolts. I replaced the bolt/nut and tightened up everything and all is well. The sound was coming from the brace as is was bending under the load from only the front motor mount and sides. Have them check everything under the car since all that had to come out when the tranny was dropped.
