Okay, so after about thirty minutes of driving my cars battery light will come on. Its a brand new battery, just bought it a month ago. So it cant be bad already. I would be driving and after 30mins it lights up. Then I turn my car off and it will come on again after another 30mins or so. Now I just drove 400 miles last wknd to a car show and had now problems with it. If anyone has ever had this problem before, could you tell what you did..I would really appreciate it.

This happened to me last week. It turns out that my Alternator Clutch fuse was blown. I could drive about 5 minutes and then the light would come on. This particular fuse is located in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. I believe it is labeled as the alternator clutch fuse. It is a bus fuse rated at 120 amps. Good luck finding one to replace it if this is your problem. I had to goto 3 different auto shops to find one. Just check all of your fuses to see if they are blown. These bus fuses are bolted into place, so do not try to pull them out by hand.

Sounds a lot like an alternator problem. Your car can start b/c the battery is still working, but has problems staying charged, hence the problem with the alternator.

I've only had my car for 3 years and alreayd had to change both the alternator and battery. Rememeber, the quicker you address the problem with the alternator, the less strain you'll put on the battery, and then of course, have to incur another cost.

You may also see a wavering idle rpm as a result of your alternator going bad. That is, if it is indeed the alternator...

Get it checked out at any battery/alternator place or auto parts store for free. I paid about $130 for my alternator parts and labor.

Well, my car drives perfectly fine even when it does go on. I dont get any unstable idling.

I had broken all my belts back in november, and I was able to drive for about 30 mins with my alternator not even working. Then it finally went, my car totally died in a busy ass intersection. I will check my fuse first, then Ill have em look at the alternator.
