Well I bought my 95' GS a few months back and the main problem that it had was the leaking value cover gasket. The oil was leaking into the plugs, but I didnt find that out until I changed the plugs. Well I got everything fixed and the car started to hesitate again mainly under acceleration after it has warmed up a bit. I'm not sure if its not enough fuel or spark or what. Could a fuel filter give this hesitation if it was old and clogged? I recently pulled the plugs again and one of them was fouled a bit from the previous oil leak so i changed that one out hoping that it would fix the problem. Well it didn't solve anything. Will a hesitation throw a code on a scanner tool? One last thing how can you tell if the timing belt is going bad other than your engine pratically blows?

Could it also maybe be some bad 02 sensors? I have a feeling that not a whole lot has been changed on this car in quite some time. (93k miles on the clock now) Can you get a cheap scanner at Discount Auto or somewhere like that? Also where is the fuel filter on the 95, I have read a few posts but people say that they are in different places with the changes in years. Thanks

Check the gap of the plugs. Check the spark plug wires. See if those result in anything.

Your fuel filter should be located on the firewall right under the battery thats where mine is at - it is a possibility that it could be your fuel filter - i had to change mine when i first got my car

Where is the fuel filter located and how hard is it to change in a 97?

I did that yesterday, one looked a little fouled and I changed it. They are NGK and gapped correctly. But it didn't help at all. The wires are also really new. (less than 2k miles) Does anyone know the signs of a bad: coil, fuel filter, O2 sensor? I "could" replace all those rather cheap, but if I can find the problem first I would feel a lot better. Anyone think a scanner tool whould work? I'm just not sure if its a major enough problem to throw a code.

Does it hesitate if you ease in on the gas or just when you put fast pressure on it?

k well i went through the hesitation thing like lots of us do. now i'm not sure what kinda hesitation u are talking about, but i can tell you what i did. i had a hesitation that felt like a miss but started only at high rpms. as the problem persisted it was more noticable at the lower rpm range. i cleaned throttle body and egr, did nothing for the hesitation. new 02 sensor, nothing. checked coil resistance, nothing again, they are either ok or bad. same goes for the map sensor, works or it doesn't.

soooo...i replaced my injectors with new stock ones, (thinking they may be at fault), new plugs and wires and it went away. so depending on what problem u have it maybe one of those things. i'm thinking plag wires, trade with someone for a day and see if it works, even though they are new they may be faulty. good luck.

I had the same problem. I unplugged the vacuum tube comming OUT of the EGR valve and it fixed it. Not sure why or how but it worked for my hesitation problem. Good Luck!
