My car is only at 65,000 miles. But I love my car, and would like to have it for a LOOOOOONG time! So, I was consdering the Howell Bottom End Rebuild kit for the future. How long will it take for a shop to install? How do you guys like the kit? Thanks for your help!!!

We sell a complete short block, and a shop should be able to swap that out in a day, if you buy it that way. The kit would vary by what machine work was needed and how backed up the machine shop is.

yeah, I think that is what I want to do, screw the downtime, and If I end up doing this myself, I am still going to learn enough about my engine, hey gary, what I don't understand is that you guys have a 2.0 short block, a 2.2 shortblock and then the one everyone just talks about, the stroker 2.4, my question is, the 2.0 shortblock is just a replacement block, completely stock just crate brand new, or does it have stronger components, the price difference of a 2.0 and the 2.2 is only like 100 bucks I think, which is better?

oh and how long for the turn around to get it to my door once its ordered and paid for?

the 2.2L is the stroked version from howell. it is possible to put the 2.4L i4 block into our cars, but that's a different conversation all together. howell strokes our block to a 2.2L w/ forged internals and the like, and their 2.0L block is the same, just .2L smaller (stock disp.) and you get to pick the compression and everything when you order.

the block alone from howell which is bored with a deckplate is much more efficient right, its not the same block?
