#28043, "oil on TB valve is that ok?"

well today i changed my tb gasket and check the iac and tps sensor to make sure they are cool.. so anyways i took a look in the tb on the plate the side which faces the intake manifold and there was alot of oil (dark) on it..it seems like it was there for some time.. is this something to look more into?

well, do you still have your egr hookd up??? that shoots 1/2burnt fumes back into your intake mani during cruising/idle conditions...that causes black gunk to form on the backside of the buterfly..

also, if your crankcase pressure dealie is ran into your intake, oil may be gettin blown thru your pipes, and into the intake manifold....

i wud say its normal.... if you have the egr, or no breather/catchcan hookd up....

that build up on the bottom side of the TB (side towards the intake mani) is normal and OK, unless for some reason it was really thick, then ya might want to clean it up and figure out what's causing the excess deposits. but stuff will sometimes blow back up from the intake mani. it happens on every car i've ever seen.
