I checked the white wire yesterday with the scope it is a very clean signal compared to the ones going to the coil pack
Go on the white wire, but remember it is half the frequency

half the freq. meaning it will activate @ 2000rpm instead of the 4000rpm setting?
my SAFC is linked to that wire and it reads correctly. is there something in the AFC that compensates for that or something?

The tach signal should be right, I thought the coil signal was half... But there couild be something in the setting on S-AFC that compensates... Don't even remember all the settings, and it's late.

I got 80 Hertz on the frequency counter at 2400 RPM and I expected 160 Hertz, on the white wire
Unless my formula was wrong ????

forgive me but im lost with this frequincy thing. is there a diff. freq that translates into the RPM's at the ECU compared to any place else in the ignition circut? if so, why?
does that mean i CAN or CANNOT splice in an RPM activated switch on the white wire at the ECU and get the correct rpm readings in order to activate the switch?
