my a/f gauge line alwyas gets stuck to it and melts away all insulation and eventually gets the better of the 18gauge wire. well today it took out that line again, AND the boost gauge vac line, the hose that the autometer gauge came with. it's getting on my nerves. does anyone have a write up on how to do it exactly? isn't there a plate i can buy or couldn't i just buy some aluminum or steel and ghetofab something?
ps i tried to search the archives, but it never works for me for somereason. thx.

I have the plates but havent installed them yet. You just need two little pieces of metal and make two small holes in the ends. It goes over the two connections where the metal egr line goes into the head and into the intake manifold. I got mine from Dino. I think their is a mopar EGR block off kit you can get. Not sure where though.

yes.. i get no cell after blocking my egr off.. and i dont think ill ever get one. for example.. the egr mechanism is still hooked up and thinks its doing its job, but the air is blocked off from getting to the intake.. no cel.. maybe the obdII cars have some extra sensors that go off when you do this for some reason, but not my 95.

Nothing different on a 99. No CEL when EGR is blocked off with plates. Just like Jason said, it still thinks it's working. ...and there's no use in spending more than you have to. We just used an aluminum sheet and cut out pieces with tin snips. Use your gasket as a template to score the aluminum and then cut and bolt in place. Done.
