what can i wrap around my cold-air intake pipe to keep the aluminum pipe from heating up? brands? thanks!

Thermo-tech or Cool-tech make sticky aluminum backed fiber-glass tape for lower temperature applications. It reflects heat and insulates. You use it on intake pipes, fuel lines, and electrical stuff. Check out www.jegs.com and www.summitracing.com.

I would be careful when wrapping things to keep the heat out, sometimes you end up trapping more heat IN.

My header is wrapped.

Since your intake pipe is aluminum, it's probably better not to wrap it. Aluminum will not heat up as fast anyway; but, if you still want to wrap it, I've used the Cool-tech wraps before and they work well. As for wrapping exhaust manifolds, the wraps do work, it could also trap moisture under the wraps, which could possibly, eventually causing the exhaust manifold to crack.
