your off toa good start... a lil more search on NGK site would tell you about hotter and colder plugs...
the 5s is what is recommended from this board, for non turbo, gap em in between 0.045 and 0.053
wires, well, the stock wires are good, i run the 8.5mm magnacores... there are lots of options... just know we can use the sme wires for the dohc neon, so search under that (it will be much cheaper than if u search under eclipse/talon)
peace

I got a question to add since we have this thread. As you might see by my sig I just ordered some NGK BKR5EIX-11. The only difference from BKR5E-11 is that these are Iridium tipped(hence the IX). On the NGK part finder search they don't list these for our cars.I got them anyway, they should still work right?

i think they will werk, but copper plugs have been mentioned to werk better than iridium plugs with our engines... but all engines are diff... and will respond differently to diff plugs... thats why there is the big diff , or room (if u will) w/the gapping of them....

I've been wondering why they recommend the 5's for us in the first place. If you read into it and pay attention to NGK's site. Our cars come equipped with the 6's stock. And 5's can not handle as much heat as 6's.......so why the hell would we switch????
Wouldn't we want to switch to 7's if anything???
I have always considered this to be a typo on someone's part.....so I just keep putting 6's in my car....until someone can better explain this.
Plus.....I've asked about three different mechanics about this....and they all agree that I'm right.

I think non-turbo with the stock compression "7"'s would be too cold and foul pretty quick. I think the recommendation is based on the compression of our cars i could be wrong, I am not too sure.
