5 speed by a car or more depends. on the drivers as well. autos don't always shift at redline.

in the long run, depending on how you mod your auto, the auto will decimate all. fully built race transimission with higher gears, overdrive torque converter, plus custom turbo, and you will whoop it up. although u would be spending mad cash.

magnecore 8.5mm wires

With the same mods the 5 spd would win. But, an auto with a shift kit, could be just as good. Shift kits cause wear on the transmission, so just be aware that you may need to build you trans later down the road. A good thing about the auto is you will never miss a gear. emoji Thats good if you have a power adder.

Another good thing about AT's, is that if you have a turbo kit, you won't loose boost during shifts. With a 5-speed, you have to build boost again. A 5-speed also has a bigger margin for error, such as missing a gear, misshift, bogging a launch, and traction probs, but all can be significantly reduced with practice. For all practical purposes, a 5-speed will be faster. Once you get to below 11's or 10's, a fully prepped AT would be a better choice. I don't think anyone can shift faster than a race prepped AT.
