Mobil 1 is good but BG SYNCHOSHIFT is the one you want maybe with some redline, but I use BG. The same stuff for the 2gT's and RRE sells it

The only problem I have with synthetic tranny fluid is what makes it good for moving parts in the engine, makes it bad for the tranny. You would want friction in your tranny no? Though it will feel like the gears engage ngto think about. I will research it more.

75W-90 is too thick for our trannies, a lot of FWD cars use motor oil 5W-30 in the trans or a specific manual tran fluid. Go with the BG Syncroshift, like Skrilla said. I use it and it improved the feel of my tranny.

I'm thinking of doing this when I order my Scroth harness but how many bottles does it take (orders) to flush the whole tranny?

Should be about three bottles. Just fill till it starts to come out of the fill hole. I jacked the car up and took the wheel off then lowered the car to normal ride height, suppose to fill with the car level. Jsut be warned, get a funnel with a LONG extension on it to fill, they put the fill hole in a bad spot right above the CV.

And taloned dog, we don't have a filter on the manuals trans. just drain and fill. Very easy.

Hades, what shroth harnass did you get? I was looking at those from RRE, looked like some nice set ups, let me know what you think.

I talked with satan on this one and they said for my car 98 RS Manual tranny, they said to use 80-90w gear oil. Which is GL5. In my shop manual at work it calls for some special kind of fluid but when I called satan they said that 80-90w is the best kind of stuff to use. I added a additive called Polydyn TX-7 Manual Tranny Treatment to help lube up the inside parts. We will see how well it works out. It has been since saturday since i have done this. So far it has worked good. We shall see though.

I just think that these thick 90w gear oils are too thick. Look at the consistancy of what came in it from the factory, and what the recommended replacements are. They have the consistancy of motor oil, which like I said before is what a lot of FWD manual trans call for. I think synthetics like BG Syncroshift and Redline MTL is pretty good form what I hear, are the right weigh oils.

Waiting for from RRE: Front Lower Tie Bar, SS Clutch Line.
