#26486, "MISSFIRE IN CYLINDER 2 ??????"

I need some help! Check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone and the guy there told me I had a code 302 p (missfire in cylinder #2). I checked my wire, it was good. I changed my plug, no difference. My car runs like shit, bad idle and sputters in the lower RPMs. THANKS

The plug looked a little worn but not to bad so I went ahead and replaced it. I also noticed oil on one of my other plugs,I think #4.Is this also going to be a problem or should I not worry.

The oil is just becuase the spark plug gaskets are prob shot, not a big deal but over the course of the year they need to be changed. If you changed the plug and its ok then I would try to change the wires or atleast check them with a voltmeter (see your chiltons) if its the coil pack I would assume it would give 2 cylinder misfires, I thought that its paired 2x2 in the coil pack, like 1&3 are the same coil and 2&4 are the same.

yah if there is oil on your spark plug that gasket is not good anymore.. so when u do changed it replace all of them, and your valve cover gasket... like i said, check your coil it wont hurt...compression test is always good, i forgot what could be wrong internally or the top end if you have a misfire in a certain cylinder.. i think its the valve or something, but lets hope its not anything big...

My guess is that this is like the other guy who posted in the section about a misfire... some oil got in and spoiled an ignition componant, such as a wire, or a coil pack, or something like that.
