Start by checking the vitals for a running car. When you try to start it, does it turn over? If it doesn't, then the starter isn't getting power, which could be battery, wiring to starter, wiring to/from battery, or something like the starter kill relay if you car has a factory alarm. If it turns over, is it getting spark? Try pulling one of the spark plugs, plugging the spark plug wire into it, and resting it on the exhaust mani. Have someone try to start the car, and if the plug sparks (again, on the heat shield or something si you don't cook you hand), then it is getting spark. Your problem is fuel. Could be your fuel pump, fuel filter, FPR, fuel rail, injector(s), o-rings, or something like that. If it is spark or fuel, check your fuses and relays. Other then that, I am not sure.

Dude, Boeing called. They want their wing back.

maybe your valves need adjusting? I have heard of V6 or v8 muscle cars or trucks getting up to speed, and the valves "float" and the car shuts down.

Valve float happens at high RPM (over our redline by a good amount) not necessarily at high speeds.

WTF 95eclipsegsna? Is your sig a joke or something? This site is dedicated to 95-99 Eagle Talon/Mitubishi Eclipse non-turbo cars....very specificly. Try a Ferrari site - you'll probably have better luck, alot of these guys hate Hondas. emoji

Here's my valiant effort. If you know your sparking, and you have feul at the rail....maybe you have a vacuum leak, maybe your ecu took a dump. The problem is that I don't know shit your ignition and I don't know shit about your etc... Good luck.

ok...nice hatchling.

Check the timing belt - is it broken? Check the timing - do your cam gear marks line up? Check for a bad connection at the cam/crank position sensor. The coils could have crapped on you(just because they show spark doesn't mean it's enough), check them out. Thats where I would start anyway, but I'd probably go through and check to make sure that all of the connectors are connected, and all of the vaccum lines are connected, and that there is no obvious leak in the intake after the TB. Since it just all shut off at once, it sounds like a single point of failure kind of thing.

CEL on? What code(s) are you getting?

don't act like your civic is all badass with your intake and exhaust and oh yeah, motor swap. If you're going to compare your POS honda to a 2gnt, compare it to one with a 4g63T swapped in it.

um, everybody shut up. The civic dude has an Eclipse and all he did was ask for help. Anyway, this happeneded to me on i-10, I was going about 95 and heard a large pop. The car shut down. It turned out the timing belt went, creating over 2k worth of damage. I HIGHLY doubt this happened to you...but something to think about.

To the civic dude,

Worry less about what we're saying and more about your tires. Your camber is f'd up BAD. So while you're flaming somebody else for not being lowered, maybe you shouldn't be.

I've heard that some cars have a button that you need to press to reset the fuel pump after an accident....not because of a certain speeed.

Have you checked anything yet, or are you just testing us?
