um............im afraid and im sorry to be the one to have to breakk the bad newss for you.
um....your..eclipse ........um....it.......it.....has a modular cultch.
i tell it to you frrom my own personal experience. my 95 eclipse in in my garage without an engine and tranny and clutch because ot the stinking clutch.
i would be sure that it is a modular clutch and why do you ask? are u going to replace it??

The only way to really tell is to drop the trans and look. If you have a one piece clutch bolted to a thin flexplate, you're modular. If you have a clutch disc, pressure place and a nice thick flywheel, you're non-modular.

have fun.

Well, there' a couple of things u can do.
one. replace the stock modular clutch with a clutchmasters tage one clutch or which ever u can afford
heres the link i found however shop around u may find it at a better place somewere else
http://www.clutchmasters.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&MakeModelID=28512&MakeID=89&Engine=2.0L+ENG.+NON+TURBO+2WD+MODULAR+UNIT&FromYear=1995&ToYear=1999
second choice u got is to replace your flywheel and modular clutch for a lightweight flywheel and a dual friction clutch ( iwas thinking about soing this but because i drive my car lik 100 miles everyday i was afraid of wearing out my cltch way too soon and i dint want to spend tons of money and time on clutches and resurfacing flywheel so i went with number one) well anyways heres the link where i found andok deal on this option
http://128bitencrypted.com/centerforce/2001catalog/centerforceresults.tpl?db=2001catalog.txt&eqmakedatarq=MITSUBISHI&eqMODELdatarq=ECLIPSE%2C%20ECLIPSE%20SPIDER&yeardata=1995

i bought a stage one clutch masters modular unit for the same treason that i drive my car a whole lot and didnt want to spend 3000 on tranny but its up to you .
ill get my clutch sometime this week and maybe my car will be running by the end of this week and if u want me too ill tel u what big difference does a 400 dollar clutch have over a 200. hopefully this week
