Just wondering where the fuel filter was...and how do i go about changing it...?

It is under the car, just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. Before you start to change it you need to release the pressure in the lines. On the passenger side of the fuel rail there is a release valve, looks like a bicycle tire valve. Push and hold until no gas comes out. The filter just looks like a black canister with metal lines running out from either side of it. To take it out, just dismount it from the car. Then disconnect the fuel lines from each side with an open end wrench(i forget the size). These bastards are on tight so make sure not to twist and bend the fuel lines. Fuel will spill out so be prepared. Then just do the opposite of what you just did to install the new one. Oh yeah... the new one will come with some copper washers... pay attention to how the old ones come off because the new ones need to be installed in the same fashion. Then start the car and check for leaks. Just make sure the fuel lines are tight because they will leak and that is no good.

P.S. This is a PITA to do!!! And you will get gas on you!!

i just changed my filter during the turbo install. it was really easy i thought, well easy i guess compared to the rest of the shit i need to do for the install. but anyway to releive the fuel pressure i removed the middle plate under the rear seats and unplegged the wire harness then ran the car until it died (2 seconds) then shut off and the pressure was relieved. removing the 2 bolts for the fuel filter was pretty difficult but not challenging after you broke them loose. also those washers go on both sides of the "eye" bolts, for both sides of the filter.

I just got my first new fuel filter for this car, and it says on the box "Replace every 10,000 miles". WTF? Am I stupid for running 60k on the stock filter, or just stupid for buying a crappy new filter?

lol.. mine said that too. From what I haev heard its best every 30,000 miles, but there are guys on here with 100,000 miles+ on the original one.
