Alright, I'm about to buy a datalogger and I can't choose which one to get, right now I'm stuck b/t the one www.obd-2.com sells, or AUTOTAP's version (www.autotap.com). Are these good? Which ones are the best? I want a good unit, but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. Which ones are you guys using? I need some advice because I don't want to get raped on a piece of junk.

I'm using the one from http://www.obd-2.com. Its only $122 and you can get 25% off if you are a student. Thats very affordable and I've found it a very useful item.

Do any loggers record knock on our engine? I just get ignition advance and guess from there.

You can't get knock sums on an OBD2 car... the ECU doesn't output that value.

Can you give me an example of ignition advance numbers that are safe causing minimal knock? I seem to remember a post from Howell or HRC that had degrees posted, but that was a while back.

Dino, what are you getting with 15 psi on pump gas?

i get like 18-22 degrees advance.

if it knocks, it'll fall all the way down to 14ish, which seems to be as low as it will go at WOT.
