I am looking into buying a pulley, and I saw Unorthodox makes a race pulley that removes the AC. It is only $200 so not much more than the AF/X pulley. Just wondering if you think the gains from the race pulley would be worth the extra $40 or so. Thanks Jon

The power gains are mad-crazy. I was driving around and broke my A/C-P/S belt and the driving sucks!ass! It was worse, a lot worse, than my buddies 91 Jeep w/o P/S. It actually made me tired from driving for about an hour. Anyway, the power gains are nice, but I wouldn't remove the A/C like ^^^ said unless you are in a cool climate, or just save that pully for winter time.

My PS belt has been off for a few months now. imo the only time it sucks to drive it like that is when i am parking. And about the AC i never use it. It's been about 105+ here for awhile, i would rather have the performace than drive around not sweating.

Fook all that, I like my a/c! Naw, most of the time I drive with the windows down anyway. But I use the a/c most when I have other people in the car. TO me its not worth the few HP you will gain by taking it out. I have heard of people bypassing the ac pulley when they are at the track though and that makes sense.

Dude, if you are going to the track, just take off the belt for your P/S and A/C, but if you use your A/C, I would say the power gains aren't enough to not have A/C when you want it.

ya, what they all said, but the important thing to mention is that the different pullies arent diff (except for size) to bypass the a/c, u just use a shorter belt, and dont run it along the tensioner and down to the a/c....
40 bux more for a pulley that comes w/a shorter belt, pffft.......
