#25650, "Which one....Greddy EVO or Apexi Dunk??"

Which catback would you choose for a 99 GS? (mine) Ive always wanted the Greddy EVO for the name brand and specx and a lot of you guys have the Greddy EVO...but the price is pretty up there....then a fellow 2gnt member posted that I could get a Apexi Dunk catback for $325 shipped...and in their description of the Apexi...they said it was designed like the EVO...ground clearence...and it looks just like the EVO...I like the price of the Apexi...but I dont know...I was thinking of still looking for a good price EVO....but which one do you like? or would go with?

BTW: Here is where you can get the dunk for $325

I saw that post and that is a good price. The apexi sounds more like a fart-can, but its still a good exhaust.

i got the dunk, i got it a little while back for 295, i really like it it is built extremely well and fits perfectly on the stock hangers. it literally took me 30 minutes to remove the old exhaust and install the new one. it came with all the necessary bolts and gaskets and a little tube of polish for the stainless muffler. another cool thing is that the piping is Ti02 coated for corrosion resistance and that gives the tubing a unique Purple coloring.

Just wondering what diameter the piping was on this system? On the official Apex site they have it listed as 60mm which converts to about 2.4 inches. Is that what yours is or is it a full 3 inches?

Thanks in advance for any info.

i measured my ID when i got it and it actually is 58 at the cat and almost 70 at the muffler, i remember reading somewhere that the reason they call it the megaphone dunk is because of this design, it is supposed to speed up exhaust flow, which makes some sense.

I posted that message about the dunk for $325, and since then I heard the company sold it's last one to a fellow member of the board. I haven't called to find out because I just spent all my exhaust money on repairs (dammit). You might want to call them and find out if they have it still. If not, the EVO sounds good, but for that price you might as well get the best shiot out there...go for the N1 catback system. Like it was said ^^^ those Apex kits bolt straight on, and the N1 sounds sooooo mean.

Is the Apexi N1 for the NA eclipse like to big? like what are the size of the piping? I thought it was like super huge...and I would loose to much back pressure. Anyone know a good place to buy the Apexi N1? I wouldnt mind getting the N1 at all. And about that place with the Apexi Dunk for $345 arent they gonna get more in?

go with the dunk system imo. I have the muffler, but not the catback and I'll tell you this, the tone is perfect. Its a smooth deep tone you can hear coming from blocks away. All my friends know when I'm comin over }>

I apologize... i mean to take those pics today but I got busy. Its all a matter of opinion bro. I like my EVO because it sounds great and I got it for about half price. Would I buy it again?? YES! But in reality the two exhaust are very comparable and I don't think either is a bad choice.

Looks like it comes down to how much someone wants to spend or what kinda deal they can get. From all the responses it seems like either 3 of the exhausts mentioned are worth the money and have similar performance/sound quality. Don't think there's a wrong choice in this one.

Yeah I got mine from Fusion. Just do some shopping around. There is always one shop that is significantly cheaper than the rest.

Right. I originally had ordered the N1 but since it was on a 5 week backorder, he gave me the EVO at the same price.

My exhaust sounded different before the engine build and turbo. It was a lot louder, especially at idle. It seems to have quieted down.

RaceRx - If you find a really good price on the EVO, N1, or Dunk on the internet, then go to www.asylumms.com and look at their price, if there is anywhere on the net that beats their price they will beat anything you can find. I'm going ot call them on Monday and see if they will stand by their word and match that $325 on a dunk, or maybe even an N1 system...hehehe.

IF you go to www.asylumms.com then you are asking for trouble. They SUCK. I'd rather pay more for an item elsewhere then deal with their crappy customer service.
