i have 2.5" custom piping w/o cat. i currently have a flowmaster 40 series muff. but it is really raspy at a serain RPM when i shift. i don't really like it and was wondering what muffler i could get that sounds good and flows good. i like the flow master b/c it has a growl to it but is raspy when shiftin at higher RPMs. any suggestion are welcome.

hey bro...keep your muff and invest in a cherrybomb glasspack resonator.... i had honduhish noises b4 i slapped one of em on my exhaust....

match it up w/your pipin size, and throw it behind the second 02 sensor b4 the bend...

good luck..

o, btw.. the cherrybomb is like 20 bux, and cuttin/weldin shudnt be more than 20 or 30....

yah, i thought about that, but i don't want to hack my pipin up. since i'm turbo i figure i need all the flow i can get so a straight through muffler would help, but wonder if it would still be raspy

a cherrybomb glasspack is a straight through muffler (it will not harm the exhaust flow.) and it will take the raspyness out.. almost garrunteed.
and it's not like you are hacking your piping to bits.. you would just be replacing one plain straight section with a straight through glasspack muffler, therefore removing the raspyness and probably deepening the tone some. Not a complicated swap or anything, i'd do it if I had the welding equipment.. hehe.

yah i had a glass pack on when i was NA but when i changed to 2.5 and took the cat out i didn't put one back in b/c i figured itwouldn't be raspy with the turbo. i was just wondering if there was a muff that sounds good on a turbo with no cat and no glasspack.

yep cherry bombs are good I looked at them at kragen and they're much less restrictive than the RRE resonator I got, wonder if they make em in 3in though. Hehe any muffler is good as long as you can see through it. I kinda lean towards the Magnaflow brand though, I've heard good things about em and I got one and its never sounded raspy.

Hey I had a Magnaflow (which is for sale) and it sounded great. I currently use a dynomax Race muff and glasspack for flow reasons only But, I'd go tothe Magnaflow again in a second.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

I personally have a Hayame XT-4 and I love the sound it makes. It's pretty deep sounding for a 4 cylinder. All my friends love the sound of my car and wish they could get the same sound out of theirs. emoji
