The last couple days I have been driving around and the battery light comes on...okay, so I turn off the stereo/amp, all that, and last night driving home from the g/f house the lights started dimming/stereo shut off/gauges stopped working...etc etc...do you guys think it is the alternator? or could it be something else?? I can jump my car and it will run, but the battery will die again...I dont' think it's being recharged...

Yea, I'm almost certain it's your alt. When the battery light comes on it means that the alt isn't charging the battery.

What kind of alternator do you guys suggest I get??? I need something that won't burn out form the power of the amp along with the car. Can you guys give me some websites and/or suggestions??? Please and thank you!

Upgrading alts is very costly, I would suggest getting a new alt from autozone, they have a lifetime warrenty, so if/when you wear it out, it will get swapped for a new one every time... installing an alt is easy as 1-2-3...

Thanks dude, I think we have an Autozone in town...I'll find out tomorrow, and I'll find out how easy it is to swap.

check your battery first

The battery should be fine...it's only 2 months old...do you think it could be that??? I've jumped my car to the point I can get it to start, but even with the engine running it won't recharge the battery. I figured if I can recharge the battery with somebody elses, it should be rechargeable...right?

check your alternator belt first

Also check your battery terminals, if they are corroded the alt will not be able to send juice to the battery which will eventually cause it to drain. I had that problem and after I got my alt checked at autozone I found that to be what it was.

another thing....I see you have an amp hooked up, make sure to check EVERY power wire, every ground wire, and your blue remote wire, make sure that none of the wires are touching, and you have solid connections on everything! very vital, after that's checked, I'd say alternator......just another idear bro
