You might see a small increase in power by leaning out the system, but nothing you will feel. Its possible to get a few more miles per tank if you lean it out a little, because as I sure you know we run rich from the factory.
EDIT: If you plan on making any major upgrades then I would say it is worth it. The s-afc becomes more effective when adding power gainers such as turbo, higher compression, or larger displacement. If you doing small mods and never doing any of the things above then I would say there are better things you could spend your money on. Of course this is all my opinion, I'm sure others will have different views.

Here's something else to consider. When I had the safc in but the map sensor to computer wire connection was bad (it was my fault) I ran 15.7s. Once I got it fixed and leaned the car out, I ran 15.5s. I think it isn't a gain you can really feel, but it does help even if you have bolt ons.
Our cars at WOT run very rich, so getting the air fuel ratio where it should be does help, but also when you lean the car out (mine is set to -10% from 6000rpms and up) the computer thinks there is less load on the engine and gives you more timing. I have datalogged an increase of +3 degrees timing advance after leaning the car out.
