#25154, "What's up with brake light???"

When I step on my brakes really hard, say for sudden stops, the brake light comes on and stays on for a minute or so then goes away. It doesn't come on when I brake normally or lightly, just when I hit the brakes hard. What could be causing this? Does that mean ABS is kicking in? (Yes I have ABS). I thought ABS just kicked in automatically and tehre was nothing to tell you, but I'm not quite sure. TIA!

Your e-brake may be lose check to see if it wiggles a little and tighten it up. Also if u use your e-brake to help stop the cable may be stretched or lose try to tighten it first. the brake light only comes on in my car when I use the e-brake, or there is not enough fluid. check your fluid level.
