I was just wondering how hard it would be to do this without losing to much hp and torque. If anyone know please let me know.

I'm no expert, but I think it'd be pretty hard to do without losing hp and torque if you're NA. Somebody on the board has a dual exhaust, but I think he's turbod.

I've contemplated this for a while, and maybe eventually will do it.

Run 2.5" piping back from the cat, split into to pipes and cut down pipe size to 2"<->2-1/4" and run your dual mufflers. This is the only way I see to keep exhaust gas velocity.

Actually if your going from a 2.5" you should run a 1.8-2in from the Y-Pipe, any bigger and it will be like running a 3 in exhuast. I was thinking of doing this, only doing the Y-pipe after the header and running dual cats, do you all think this would help with emmissions if I were using all sorts of cam overlap and all motor crap? also anyone know what the S2000 does for exhaust size and design?

Actually, a single 3" pipe will flow more then 2 2.5" pipes. Just the way it is.

Umm the dual exhaust won't do anything for horsepower and torque. The only thing it will do is make your exhaust quieter because the exhaust gases have more to bounce off of nad may reduce power just minmally because it will create a little more backpressure(maybe, Maybe notI'm not sure). But I would say don't go for it cause you aren't helping your engine at all, might as well stay with stock exhaust.Just go for a free flowing cat-back exhaust. I got an HKS cat-back exhaust and my engine runs smoother, less strain a lot less backpressure and In the high i end I can feel the torque pulling a little more definitly worht the money spent. Honda S2000 has a four banger with dual exhaust. I'm not sure what the exhaust design is but I would imagine that the headers would seperate the four runners into 2 big runners instead of a 'Y' pipe. Then possibly there is 2 downpipes or no down pipes dependin on how long the headers are. I think an exhaust like this would improve flow without hurting performance. Than again, dual exhaust on boy racer cars designed without them is silly.
