I'd like to build with this to get more power, then boost on top of it for a sick beast. How much power to the wheels with the stroker kit alone? TIA!

You'd have to call Gary about this one... he doesn't have the info on the website yet. I still say rebuild and go with a stage 3 turbo setup... I mean, if you REALLY want power.

This might sound like a stupid question, but I am new to this. But what does a "stroker" kit consist of?

increases the displacement of the engine from 2.0L to about 2.2L, it's not out yet, don't know everything it will consist of, but it'll have special longer pistons/rods for sure

the stroker kits are out.. ive called howell about them and the kits are out, but they are having problems with the new crankshafts. they do not have any of them in stock right now, and from what theyve told me, it seems like it will be about 5 weeks before they get them in. but you can send them in your crank and have them machine that for you and then they will send it back.... hehe.. i know what im doing soon....

OK, I am thinking. Get $$$ for stroker. This will give me more power and reliability. Then, boost it on internals that can handle it. Boost adds power, but with a small amount of lag. The stroker/all motor method is instant power. I think that route with boost later on is the formula for building a beast forged in the fires of hell. "Nice metaphorical comparison to make it sound nice and all."
Anyhow, I'd like to do this. I just wanna get prices/specs gathered and know every detail b4 jumping into something.

My goal is to have about 400 WHP or upper 300's on tap (with boost control) without N2O. I would daily drive on 200 something, probably 250 or somewhere and just use a profec or something to bust some V8 booty.

Buy a 2.4L and build that when you have money. When done put that in and run mid 14's NA. Turbo it when you have more $$ and run low 13's maybe 12's.

...that's all you need. Make sure its a complete short pump with good oil pump.

So what your saying is that your in the mood for stage 4 territory? Your looking around 6 grand for the turbo kit and stroker kit to get you there... And save yourself the $$$ by installing it yourself, just pay for machine work. 400hp, your looking to upgrade the axles as well, stage 2 if you want to keep ABS, stage 3 if you dont want it anymore, you'll also need to upgrade to a quaife lsd, and get a beefy clutch like the clutch masters stage 4... and those will be the main things you'll have to buy. Then you'll be cruisin' in a monster, but your wallet better not stop there cause there will be plenty more to come.. you'll have to revamp all the brakes so you will be able to stop and not kill yourself with brake fade, as well as fixing shit that brakes all the time...

Did you give up looking for a GSX??

I had found a gsx I wanted, but I couldn't sell my car. I owe like 12k on it still. (I know, the dealer rips u when u buy brand new) So, I couldn't sell it. I had a few "wannabe ballers" act like they had that much in the couch and shit, but they never went thru with buying. Then I had the lame asses who wanted to buy for like 7500. No way I could sell it that cheap. I'd have to get atleast payoff. Then be without anything for a while to save a down payment on a loan. I couldn't have afforded 2 car payments. The gsx I was gonna get was a 99, 5 speed, and had about 31k miles. I could have probably kept trying, but I got tired of the bullshit and hassles from dumbasses when trying to sell it. I was asking 13,000 obo at one time, and obo did in no way mean 7500. That's 1,000 more than half what I wanted.

5 speed swap= $$$$$$$$$ out the ass. I can build the auto for cost of materials at wholesale price. The gsx was on autotrader for like $18,xxx. silver, 5 speed, 99, low mileage. It was in florida.

5 speed swap is totally worth it if you ask me, its really not that much $$, get the shit you need out of a junker, and the tranny if you trust it, or buy a tranny in good shape for about 650.
