I'm new to the forum, and I have justed started with mods on my 95 Talon ESI. Last night I installed an AEM CAI. In the instructions it mentions disconnecting the negative wire from the battery. I did not remember to do this. I was wondering if this is necessary, or if it can be skipped?
I think they say to do this because it resets the computer which allows it to recognize the new amount of airflow and adjust accordingly. Just go out there and do it now. Disconect it and then put it back on and let you car idle a few minutes then take it for a spin. Anyone disagree, as I think I'm correct? P.S. It is also always a good idea to disconnect the battery when working on your car just for safety reasons.
