I have a problem with my idle. but runs fine when you give it gas. Has great power and get s great gas milage. I bought my car back in december and now it's warm enough to work on. The car had a rough idle when i bought it and i got a great deal on it because of the idle. The rough idle only happens after the engine has warmed up. It is an inconsistant rough idle, does not follow a pattern. I have replaced the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, wires, vacuum hoses, ignition coil (or what ever it's called that the wires hook into), all filters. All sensors have been tested and are within speck. compression test is within speck. Have run 2 bottles of cleaner in the last 4 months. I have listened to the engine using a long screw driver to my ear and checking various points. The only thing i hear that is not normal is a quit clicking noise on the #one cylinder intake valve area. I have to listen for it carefully to hear it. I have been told it may be a sticking valve that is not closing all the way. If anyone has any suggestions on what it could be and how to fix it please let me know.

did you replace the pvc valve? slip it out of the hose and shake it if it rattles then its good if not it will make your car run like shit. does it idle up and down? if you have a bad vacuum line it will act like shit, if you have a big vacuum leak it will idle up and down. if that dont help i would go to a shop and tell them to clean the injectors it cost like $40. keep after it.

The pcv valve is working fine, i have changed all the vacuum hoses with new silicone ones. The injectors have been are running perfectly and within speck. I have looked over everything that does not require me to really open up the engine.

i think he's referrin to the idle speed control motor and its located perpendicular to the entrance of the intake pipe into the throttle body (on the throttle body like between the throttle body and the back of the hood). My car had a check engine light go on a while back for the isc and now it's off, so that leads me to believe that a light would come on but you know how cars are good luck

Worked on my car last night so here's an update. Rechecked the TPS and was withing speck with the ohm meter. Adjusted the throttle cable to get some of the slack out. It was still idleing rough but throttle response was a tad bit better. I next unhooked the ICS motor and started the car, idle just like before except the engine light came on. I repluged the ISC motor and the car would not even idle it just died. I reset the computer and the car ran like before, idle with the v-8 lug lug sound. If the ISC was not working in the first place my car would be running even worse than it does now. Next on my list is to check the fuel pressure and fuel pump. It's the last on my list to do before i open up the engine. It bothers me that my 95 rs runs great when you just tap on the gas. It runs strong with great power for stock, gets 32mpg but the shaking engine and rough idle are driving me nuts. Am i chasing my tail or is their something i'm missing or not even thinking of. Maybe i have aftermarket cams in and i don't know it. Maybe a valve or lifter is sticking or maybe it's just god playing a trick on me i don't know.
