#24561, "Help me find a block/core for my rebuild....ALSO OBD1/2 Q???"

I have searched all yards locally in NH and came up with nothing. Everyone wants to sell a wartrantied motor. I guess there is no money in junk anymore.. I am obviously looking for a cheap non running one so I can work on it on the side while the car still runs. Any ideas where to look. Also what conditions on a non running engine should I be careful about since it will be bored? Also a question. I am OBD1, This is related to the fuel rail and ECU not the block correct? If so any 420A DSM block 95-99 would work right? Any web sites where I can get just the block?? TIA..JD

>while the car still runs. Any ideas where to look. Also what

Try online.. car-parts.com, msrecycling.com, a few others.

>conditions on a non running engine should I be careful about

As long as it didn't throw a rod, a .020 overbore will take out just about anything (as long as it isn't deeper than .020)

>related to the fuel rail and ECU not the block correct? If
>so any 420A DSM block 95-99 would work right? Any web sites
>where I can get just the block?? TIA..JD

Yes. all the blocks are basically the same save some minor differences in early 95's.

Well, I have a block and crank sitting here in my room, and I am in Massachusetts. Give me a good offer and it is yours. You can even have the stock internals, which I have already removed.
