Ok after 2 weeks of running perfect the car has met a new problem.
when i go to start the car it turns over but stumbles. it seems to backfire in the intake and and also acts like its flooded ( heavy gas fumes and gas coming out of the exahust. once the car finally starts it misfires and backfires a bit but after that clears up it runs and idles fine. But once you shut the car off it has the same exact problem again. You all on this board have been very helpfull to me and hope you can help me out again. Also teh car has new plugs and wires, and a new fuel filter. All the vacum lines from the egr are blocked off and am about to yank the egr tube and block it off.
Im just clueless on this. would having the injectors flushed help at all? and is it possible there could be alot of grime and sludge in the fueltank. if so should I drop the tank clean it and replace the fuel pump?

I am having a somewhat simular problem. Do you have a datalogger handy to check your codes?

nope no data logger. I read your post. it sounds similar. except for when my car finally cranks up it runs like there was never a problem.

yes but the only codes i get are egr related

intake backfirs usually mean lean conditions, but that wouldn';t explain the heavy gas fumes. Ignition problem would, take a look at your plugs, check your wires, coil... see where you go from there.

Well the car was definetly flooding. it seems as though the intake pipe or the airfilter caused this. I removed the intake pipe adn the car started fine. no back fires no nothing. changed the filter and now all is good.
