OKAY.

EVERYONE COME OVER TO THE HOWELL BOARD'S DSM SECTION HERE:

http://howell.mountain.net/SDC/howellboard/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9

If we keep bugging Gary, maybe they will push the programmer a little harder to get this shit done. I have NEVER seen these specs posted before on the board but just to give you guys an idea, this is the specs for the Neon ECU:

Design Philosophy:All A/FX computers are designed using clean-sheet software. The fuel andspark maps and done using a state of the art load-type dynamometer and thebest computer programmers and automotive engineers in the business.A/FX computers have the ability to adapt to new modifications as you makethem. Add a new cam, drive at part-throttle for a few dozen miles, and thecomputer will learn the engine's revised airflow characteristics. Then, evenat W.O.T. (in open-loop mode), the fuel-air mixture will be right on.Result: maximum power, you go fast. With no loss of fuel economy ordriveability! (This feature is maximized in the race-only units)RPM limits are increased and many other annoying factory-type drawbacks areupgraded or eliminated. See actual specs for each type of computer below.Street/strip computer specifications:- 7500 rpm fuel-shutoff (redline)- All-new spark and fuel (completely different from race units) - improveseven part throttle output!- Automatic speed control may be set up to 120 mph (if so equipped)- Turns off A/C at wide-open-throttle, like stock- No mph cutout whatsoever - top end is unnnnn-limited!- Slightly de-sensitized detonation sensor for use with noisier valvetrain(i.e., "hotter" cams)- Best results obtained with mild mods, such as: cat-back exhaust, cold-airintake, degreed-in stock or Crane #10 cam grind, etc. But no modificationsare required to obtain significant performance gain. You'll feel thedifference!- Typical flywheel HP increase 9 - 23 HP (depending on other mods, beyondthis you need the race-only unit)- Fuel economy may be BETTER than stock.- Requires 92 octane fuel (at altitudes up to 4,000 ft.) or octane booster- For model-year 2000 units: If you Neon is equipped with the securitymodule, you MUST supply the vehicle's complete, correct VIN with the order,we will flash this into the computer. If you're not sure - give us the VIN!Otherwise: NO START!Race computer specifications:- 8100 rpm redline (maximum possible!)- Totally new spark and fuel maps- Automatic speed control may be set up to 120 mph (if so equipped)- No mph cutout whatsoever- Able to use aftermarket coil and/or ignition system and not turn checkengine light on. Great for drag-race type "staging" systems.- Does not go excessively rich at top-end to "save" the catalytic converter, resulting in vastly improved maximum vehicle speed.- Significantly de-sensitized detonation sensor for use with noisy valvegear, header, etc.- calibrated for use with header and no catalytic converter. Does not readthe downstream O2 sensor, which may be disconnected w/o turning on checkengine light. May melt down a catalytic converter if used!- Best results obtained with uprated cam (Crane #16 or more), head work, larger throttle body, ported intake, etc.- Ability to use aftermarket coil and/or ignition system and not turn checkengine light on. (Year 2000 computers only).- Typical flywheel HP increase 15 - 44 HP (depending on other mods)- Warning: at the RPM this unit is capable of, you should have 2001-uprocker arms / lash adjusters (DOHC), and stiffer-than-stock valve springs toprevent valve float and resultant damage!- Requires 93 octane fuel (at altitudes up to 4,000 ft.) or octane booster.More octane required with compression increase.- Very wide ability to adapt to modifications as you make them.
