#24169, "Should I do cam gears during timing belt change?"
I'm gonna be changing my timing belt soon (not personally BTW), and will have installed an AFX UDP (save on labor), I was wondering if I should do AEM cam gears while I'm at it? The gears don't need to come off during T-belt install do they?
While I'm at it, what are average gains from cam gears? I think I've read 5hp on mildy modded Eclipses, is this accurate?

Hey wassup,
I am in your same boat. I need to do my 60k service and I actually have cam gears but they are sitting waiting for the service. From what I understand they remove the cam sprockets during the service to replace the camshaft seals, similar to the crankshaft seals. So they will just install the cam gears rather than put the stock sprockets back on. I haven't done it yet, so i could be wrong just going from what I have read. Good luck.
