I am interested in purchasing a flywheel, but don't want to also buy a new harmonic balancer. If I buy a light weight flywheel, will it throw off the balance of my engine?

Crankshaft pulley and harmonic balancer are two different animals. The pulley is just a pulley... The balancer is a weighted and balanced piece that normally attaches to the crank (crank pulley normally attaches to it). Our motor does not have a harmonic balancer. The balancers are normally 'tuned' to get rid of a harmonic vibration at a certain RPM range.
