Fairly soon here I am going to start project HRC (hehe) and was wondering how long the stock clutch will last?? Or should I just order the new clutch when I order the turbo kit?

well if a clutch is treated well I'm guessing 100k miles it could last. Hehe I got 94k on my clutch right now and it's startin to slip but it's still got grab. It mainly depends on how you drive as well. Haha I've been doing some crazy ass driving on occasion so that' probably why it's slippin.

92,000 miles on mine and 20,000 turboed. The clutch is stil like new. We have some tough clutches. I dont have enough money to get a clutch yet so I am going to see how long it will last at stage 3. Should be interesting. I'll keep everyone posted

That really depends on you and how you drive it after the turbo. And what is all this turbo talk, you don't even have a job yet? You need to stop hanging out w/ us turbo guys cuz your gonna be even more broke than you are now.
Well I personally would say get a new one. It wouldn't have to be anything too crazy. The Centerforce DF is good for low boost 5-8psi. If you go higher in boost (which you will) you would want to run a CM stage 3 or 4 and never worry about it.

yeesh your clutch was probably on the brink of destruction already hehe. I've put my clutch through some hell and it's held up. Maybe its the extra weight O_o

I went through a centerforce dual friction in 5000 miles... It limped around that last 1000 miles or so, slipping a lot... Got the clutchmasters and the tranny broke, i am beginning to think its too damn grippy and puts a lot more stress on the tranny. But it sure does get the power to the ground.

144,000 miles here... when mine went good luck, lol mines the 95 on where you HAVE to replace the flywheels and clutch at the same time, so i had to pay 750 bucks 450 for labor and 300 for parts ... sucks huh?

Damn that sux!! I got my timing belt/water pump/tensioners/clutch all installed for 450 at SataN, but thats cuz i know one of da guys. Now cuz they didn't advise me in a new slave cylinder and something else(metal line from slave to transmission??), the parts failed and i had no clutch feeling. My dumb ass forced my way into 3rd and tore the syncros up i'm guessing?? so now the guy @ SataN is going 2 get my tranny put in for 100 labor and i gotta find a used tranny for my 96 GS. It's a stage 1 clutch from a local place in ATL called Specialty clutches. Only engine mods i have is Iceman CAI and Weapon R muffler. Walt
