#24042, "Questions regarding compression tests"

A while back i took my rs into a mechanic and had a comprehensive tune-up and diagnostic done. I was leafing through some papers the other day. I noticed in the part where it had my compression results it said : "relative compression" 100 100 100 98. Is that good? Said max is 100, min is something like 84(i'm at work now and am not sure.) Are these good results? My question surrounds the fact that i've seen some of yous guys throwing around numbers like 180 and 200 when refering to compression. I'm looking at possibly putting a stage 1or2 turbo kit on and am wondering if my engine would last a while until i could rebuild? I don't use any more oil than normal, and i'm planning on replacing the head gasket soon with a copper head gasket. My car has 104000 miles. Any ideas/sugestions. Also, i'm currently torn between going turbo & all motor. I like turbo because of the sheer power potential, all motor because it is the road less traveled. I know the power potential is less, but i want to be different. Everyone goes turbo. Try to sway me towards turbo.

you should call and ask but it seems to me that the word "relative" is importatn there. The number are supposed to be within a percenctage of each other so he probably took the highest one...set that as 100, and then measured the others from that...so basically the first three were the same and the last one was 98, or 2% less than the others...but call and ask..
