#23799, "AEM CAI Question....."

I just bought my first Eclipse last Friday and already starting with the mods. Its a red 99 OZ Edition and I love this car already. I have been reading up on them for the past two months and this board has been very helpful.

Well, I just got my AEM CAI shipped a couple of days ago and after I looked it over I noticed that the ends of the aluminum tube are not perfectly round. I was wondering if this is the way its supposed to be or if this looks like its damaged. I bought it brand new from coximports so I will be talking to them if this is not right.

To see what I am talking about you can check out these pictures....

Thanks in advance!

It looks damaged to me. Call them up or e-mail them the pics so they can see the damaged intake.

when i got my a couple of weeks ago it looked like that... i just went and installed it.. works good.. made sure theres no air leaks or anything... but the only problem i encountered, was the AEM, and carb stickers were on the wrong side of the intake... so i just took them off and put them on the right side...

I contacted coximports and they sent anew one out right away no questions asked. They even had UPS come and pick up the damaged one. I will have it Friday so this weekend it will be on my car.

Cox Import is a very good company to deal with, they work really quickly and are always helpful. Im not just saying that because they sponsor my car club, I dealt with them before the fact (ordered my brake pads from them) and it was a pleasant experience. Where are you located at???
