Hey all, just noticed a strange oil leak not where I usually used to see oil leaks. It is where the valve cover attaches to the motor, but it is on the part next to the air intake near the back, where there is a half circle that the valve cover arches down. I see quite a bit of oil coming from here, but not any from behind the engine by the firewall or anything. It is just coming from that half circle on the driver side of the engine near the back. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Is this due to me needing a new valve cover gasket? Or could it be the head gasket? Is it ok if I leave it like this while I store the car for a few months?

AFAIK, that half moon is a pressed in and seal plug for that side of the head. The only way to seal that one it starts leaking is to get that plug out and reseal it with RTV.
Hope you find an easy way to get it out.
Good luck.

Uh oh that doesn't sound good. So it's not the valve cover gasket then? It's leaking from the edge where the valve cover goes down into the half moon, but I assume that area does not have to do with the gasket. Can I just seal it without getting that plug off? Any ideas? Sounds like it won't be easy to do. Thanks.

Oh wait, I just looked more closely and can see it's not part of the valve cover at all. It is a separate plug like you were talking about. Any ideas on how to seal it? Will fixing this require removing the head? If so, I might get a new head and sell my current one. I really hope not. I don't want to have to deal with more headaches, and I need to sell this car within a year from now. Is it bad if I just don't even bother to fix it? Will it get worse? Thanks...
