I'm lookin at the AEM Cold Air Intake. that seems to be the one to buy. I know its rather expensive, but price really doesn't matter, i'm not rich, i just want nothin but the best for my car. If any of you own a AEM Cold Air Intake, I'd love to hear what your thoughts are about it. THANX I'm new here so hey to everyone

welcome aboard!
ANY CAI is good, just as long as it is a COLD air intake
And, next mod should be exhaust. I'd reccomend just replacing the muffler, not the whole cat-back.
Aslo, since you're new to modding and the board, I'll ask you, what are your long term goals for your car? This will help you to NOT waste money on mods you are going to get rid of in the future.
Such as, are you planning on getting a turbo eventually? Are you going to plan on getting nitrous? Do you want an all-motor monster? Are you going to do any autocross? (SCCA only allows certain mods for certain classes of racing) Or, do you want to stay all motor and just have the car perform better wtihout trying to run some super fast times? All of these options make a difference in the mods you can (and should) get. Plan ahead and you'll save yourself alot of wasted time and money.

Hey, I really appreciate the feed back, basically i'm wanting a daily driver, i drive long distance alot, usually 35 mins one way.. so i gotta good 70 mins of driving on most days.. lesss i have a day off.. i'm 20 yrs old.. doing school, work all that balogne.. i'm sure alot of you know how that is... money is limited but i save. i'm basically wanting mods to make my car run better.. but there is times (weekend nites SOMETIMES) where i like to take it out and kinda smoke some at the lights.. its a 5spd... its fun to drive.. i like it i got the car used to let u know and is it normal to smoke em in 2nd in the 420a engine, i topped it off at 130mph on a freeway one time also.. just wondering if all that is normal for that engine... Thanks again.

Welcome to the board. Chirping in second is very common. 130 sounds a little higher for stock, but I could see that being possible. If you plan to visit the page often, don't get used to having money cause you're going to spend it all on mods. At least I have .

Welcome to tha board man. I have an AEM intake and bypass valve on my car and I love it. It also sounds really good. I would have to say you should get an AFX underdrive pulley as you next mod tho. Its only $160 and it gives you about 10hp which is nice. Yeah like ^^ said you will spend all your money on tha ride when you come here like I did and many others.

i have the AEM CAI and i would definitely recommend it. However, you can get a CAI from ebay for like $49 brand new.
I bought mine used off of EclipseKaiser for $100, so if you could find a deal like that, i would jump on it. Thedawg (left)---Me (middle)---Eclipse804 (right)---DrBalazo7 (Peeking behind the pole)

Yeah like weez said about the ebay ones. If you plan to go turbo in the future get one of those instead since there will be no need for it when the turbo arrives but if your not going turbo then definately get the AEM.
