Hey all

I took off my exhaust mani heat shield today in the hopes that I could wrap the stock manifold...BAD IDEA! Anyways, that lower part of the heat shield is a bitch to get off and I messed it up kinda bad. My question is can I just bolt the top part on and be good or do I really need that bottom portion of the heat shield? Also, I was thinking of just buying some headers...will those need wrapped or will I be good with just the header? Is the pacesetter header a good choice for headers or is there some other brand? Thanks for the help...

I dont think you need the lower part of the heat shield. The top may block some heat, but i think it's main purpose is to shield how ugly the manifold is emoji The gains you will get from a header isn't worth paying for the really expensive ones imo. I have the black pacesetter, and the paint burned off during the first test drive. I scrub it down once a week with steel wool, and it doesnt look to bad. But if you want them to look good get the ceramic coated pacesetter, or spend $$$ for a stainless header.

By any chance did the header you got make a sound difference?

Actually it did... I have a Dynomax muffler, and it was a little raspy before it warmed up. But after the header install, it made it a little more raspy.

You don't any of those damn things. It's just the stock manifold just doesn't look too nice.
