i have a cai no bypass valve = <, i know that's bad . .. ok tonight i was driving down a dark road and at last minute i noticed a puddle of water i had no choice but to go through it or go in a ditch, so i went through it, about 2 sec later it stalled, so i let it sit for a little while, took the spark plugs out to try to get it to turn over, i looked down in the hole and it saw water, the first cylider from the left was worse then the second a lil less and the thrid less, the far right cylinder when i took the plug out had oil on the plug, it was dark there was also oil on the ground after i rolled my car off the side of the road, i needa know what's up here, worsed case and how much it will cost me, please help [br />

Did you floor it through the puddle? I hope not. But I would atleast take the plugs out and rig a small hose on a vaccume cleaner and suck the water off the tops of the cylinders, then let it sit with the plugs out for a week or so, haul it home on a tow truck. Someone else will give more info probably, but hydro lock is a bitch. My cousin sank his jeep and it sucked water through his snorkel and there went that engine.

yeah it's down in the oil pan, ummm will a 99 non-turbo engine fit that had a auto tranny i have a 5spd, but i can just switch out the engine right ? it's still 420a right ? we're suspecting that this caused it to also jump timming which may have screwed up the valves, we need to take it apart and look i guess, what should i do? if it didn't jump timing what do i need to buy ? if i switch out the engine i'll be parting all salvagable parts out so start making offeres

Instead of replacing the piston and rod, why not replaceall pistons and rods while you're there? ^^^^like the ol' can of explosive wd-40 holdin' up the 100+ lbs. worth of top end there emoji .
