I beleive that all the spyder models that are non-turbo have the
2.4 SOHC 4g64. I could be wrong though.

Yes - All Spyder Non-Turbo has the 2.4L (4G64) engine. The 3G 2.4L engines are not the same as the 2G 2.4L engines. I wish they were but their not.

Trust me I know.

Chowmane, there is a article about a turbokit for the 3g rs/gs. It is in TURBO mag. for Nov. 2001 and there I thought it said that those were the 4g64 motors. I could be wrong, but aren't they on the 2g spyders too? Am I completely off? If so, please share the info about which car has the 4g64 and what is the other 2.4L as well as what car it is in....thanks

All Spyders have the 4g64, and they are the same as the 3G RS/GS. Also the same in the Galant.

Hey ^^^^ Have you open the hood of a 3G GS and a 2G Spyder GS. Yes there both 2.4L but the engines are not the same.

Have you ever look at the two.

Just like when we Spyder GS owners (Soon to be Turbo) say we need a part for the Non-Turbo. The stupid guy behind the counter thinks all GS Non-Turbo are the same. Hello I said I have a 2.4L WTF.

I deal with this everyday. Bunch of idiots working behind the counter.

Chowmane, I did my research and if you go to the spyder eclipse website for the 4g64 people, this is what it says:

"The Mitsubishi 4G64 engine is a 2.4L SOHC 4 cylinder powerplant.

This engine is used in the 1996-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS, the 1994-1998 Mitsubishi Galant,
and the 2000+ Mitsubishi Eclipse RS and GS models."

http://www.4g64.20m.com/

So the turbo kit for the 3g rs/gs is compatible with the 95-99 spyders, that is sweet.
