WOW.. that's nuts. I've never seen anything like that before on a NA car. it almost looks like that spot melted, or it was welded there and it turned loose. My best guesses would be excessive EGT's or low quality materials.

Hey I know what it is now! That holw is where the mounting brakit used to be. You know where the downpipe conects to the body? N e way thats where it was

your mounting bracket break off at some point? and took part of the header with it? damn.. that thing musta been really rusted.. or put together pretty poorly.. hehe.
