I got a muffler, not catback, and wondering if I should get custom cat-back piping, or just the rear section piping. How much should I expect for either one? And what size should I get and anything else I should know or do?

LAST EDITED ON 23-May-01 AT 04:55 PM (PST)

I bought my muffler seperate and went to a local shop the does custom mandrel bent exhaust and added a 18 inch glasspack inplace of the resignator and i got it all done for 75 bucks
I have 2 1/4 inch pipe with a 2 1/2 inch glasspack and a 2 1/4 inch tanabe muffler. I ran my car with out the resignator for a while and it sounded like shit. It had that raspy honda sound I was really impressed with the nice sound that the glasspack gave no honda sound at all just a nice deep mellow sound. I found out about the glasspack mod on Corbins website he tells more about it on it.

Hey Eric, are you sure it was mandrel bent, or was is press-bent? I'm told that no muffler shop has a mandrel bending machine because that machine alone costs over $30,000. Only Greddy and large manufacturers have these machines. Also, it should cost a lot more than 75 bucks for mandrel bend piping, but I know a lot of muffler shops around here lie and say ya, its all mandrel bent etc. That's just what I've heard...
