I was wondering what the best stuff is to shine up my greddy SS header. I know with how hot the get I wouldnt want to put some chemical on it that might make it crack or something.

SS? as in Stainless Steel? you could probably use steel wool to clean it (if ya want to do some scrubbing and no chemicals)

Yes Stainless steel. Will steel wool scratch them though. I dont mind using chemicals but will it mess up the headers if I do.

If you can find some stuff called "BLUE AWAY" that stuff is the shit. Try your local bike shop. Like yamaha/honda

hey man.. does that stuff actually get rid of 'blueing'? cause I could really use it on my bike.. my pipe is really damn blued.

I would use a metal polish, something like eagle one aluminum wheel polish. I've used it on polished SS before and it comes out very nice.

Yeah the Blue Away works great. It Takes out so much of the blue with actually little effort. I used it on my SS header before I sold it and also On my Toomy Pipes on the Banshee. Worked Great. It is a little Spendy, like 11.00 for a little bottle.

as long as the little bottle goes a long way.. i have ALOT of blue on the pipe on my motorcycle (was running lean for a long time) and so I need to get it off to see how fast it comes back (if i fixed the problem or not since i re-jetted the carb).
Oh.. the steel wool will not hurt the SS as long as you go easy on it.. I use steel wool on my CHROME exhaust (motorcycle) to remove baked on stuff.. works great and doesn't scratch the chrome if you go REALLY easy on it.. and maybe use a little chrome polish afterwards if it did leave any marks.
