Okie here is the deal, I full up with gas on my way home from Ashville, NC Friday. My car runs fine for the 200+ mile trip home untill i get to the state line. It didnt want to speed up over 70 to pass this truck.. so.. when I get to my exit(12 mile from da line) it spits and sounds like it's back firing.. I go on up the ramp and it does this the whole way. I get off the ramp and get the car over 4k RPMs and the car runs fine. When i slow done for the next stop light same thing.... Someone told me i could of got some waterly gas. But wouldnt that of start acting like before i used up 1/2 the tank? Also i was told the fuel pump or plugs could be bad. so i got some new plugs.. and it helped a little.. Any other ideas? please let me know.. thanks alot...

i had kinda the same problem once before, but not on my 99 GS, i had it happen with my 97 Galant ES. Anyways.. my problem just ended up being some water in the tank. The gas station prob had not so good gas you got. Water int he tank shouldn't affect it right away. If Im wrong someone correct me, but gas and water dont mix, they seperate in the tank. When on the high way, the forward motion makes the liquid int he tank move backwards. And the pump shuldnt pick up the water until the tank gets low, then the pump has a chance to get the water. correct me if Im wrong. I just bought one of those gas treatments, something called "dry gas" and it helped the rest of the tank. After the next full tank from my regular gas station it was all fine.

I completely agree with changing your plugs. Sounds like the cylinders are loading up at low RPM loads. Probably got something bad in the gas.
