my friend was telling me to look into the borla exaust because they are so widely used on Domestics and we being domestic at heart should look into it. Well i did http://www.borla.com the exaust looks ok but is way to expensive ..so my question is the extra 100 beans or so worth it ? the apex-i n1 is the one i really want but if the borla provides more power than i will go that route. i know people have the n1 but what about the borla ? any suggestions and comments will be nice

I'd go with the Apex. One it's cheaper and two you aren't gonna see amazing power gains from swapping your exhaust. The 2 will probably be pretty close in most cases. Go with the one you like the most.

Although, if you're really want more power, then you might want to get a gs-t exhaust and then get something that will give you more power for the buck.

BTW, you being another pimpin NT AT guy, after I got my car out of the shop (messed up tranny ... replaced input and output speed sensors) my car drives like a mad devil, shifts higher, shifts cleaner, downshifts smarter. It's nice. I'm guessing my old sensors were holding me back. Did you notice a big difference when you got your tranny replaced?

hell yea !! the teeth of the new gears just chomped into play afterward !! my car is not much faster but noticeably smooother with the shifts !! i love it .. just be gentle on it for the first 500 - 1000 miles .. im up to 740 so far ..

i know the hp gains wont be drastic im just wondering if one was better than the other is all ..

Has anyone heard the Borla exhaust system on our cars? Just wondering cause I also was planning on buying a Borla but it is way to expensive.

Just go with the one you like. I don't think there is a big difference. I know all about it being expensive. I dropped $600 on mine (it was before I was car savvy and found this board). It's a Tanabe Hyper Med. It is the loudest thing I've ever heard. I put in a modified Apex silencer in it to keep the noise down and so I could remain sane.

I have never heard a Borla exhaust I didn't like. They have a great growl to them. I haven't heard them on a DSM, but I have on the Neon 420A and they sounds sweet. The only thing don't like about the 2gnt exhaust from Borla is the tip, it's too big for my taste. And look around because the price on the Borla site is always too high. I've seen them for around the same price as a Thermal R&D cat-back. I have the GS-T muffler, so I don't have to worry about exhaust for a while. But Borla and Thermal are tops on my list of possibilities.
