i pulled my engine today. all went well and it only took about an hour and a half. to my surprise my flywheel ins't rivet to my clutch. it was held on by like 6 bolts to the crank or whatever. so my question is now, what clutch do i buy? the one for the neon? and what about the flywheel? should i just have mine lightned?
thanks

more or less it looks like you can use any clutch that is non modular and if desired you could get your flywheel lightened since its by itself. i thought all 95's were modular. man i hope mine is non modular, cause it would save me $$ for a new clutch.

That probably isn't a flywheel. That's your flexplate.
Unless your clutch separeated into three pieces (flywheel, disc, pressure plate) you're still modular.

I thought 95's and some 96's were non-modular and all other models were modular. Also I've heard bad things about getting the stock flywheel lightened, they can't lighten it too much and it becomes fragile and can easily shatter. If you have the money get a fidanza flywheel, they only weigh 7lbs. I think clutchmasters makes a good clutch for the non-modular systems. Of course if you modular you can't use any of the above seperately.

Well, if there were 4 bolts at the back of the plate with teeth on the outside, you have a modular clutch. If you did not remove 4 bolts from the motor side of the plate facing towards the transmission, the you have a non-modular clutch. If you have a modular clutch, and you went the extra step and removed the bolts in a small ring from the transmission side towards the motor, then put them back. they hold the flex plate on the crank. While you are at it, make sure you didn't screw up the seal behind it. Best of luck! -=B-=
