#21630, "squeeling belts part 2- opinions wanted"

i ended up taking my car to satan yesterday cuz my belts were squeeling. at first they told me the problem was the udp was not installed properly, and it was wobbling, it was causing the belts and the udp to scrape on the block, so they're going to have to remove it and replace it. a while later they call me back and tell me they're having a difficult time getting the stock udp (they called it a crankshaft pulley)installed and that the crankshaft was warped. on top of that when the afx udp was installed the mechanic who did it bolted it on too tight and screwed up the threads. they had to cut the afx udp in order to get it off. they said the crankshaft was warped and the stock pulley would not sit flush. i went down to satan to see for myself and the mechanic there was saying that there was nothing wrong witht the afx udp but that it appeared like when they tried to take the original pully off they didnt have the right tool, sure enough i could see the gashes and scrapes on the block where they tried to pry the pully off. and i could also see where the pulley was scraping on the block. anyways i;m compeletely fucked the only way to get the new pulley on is to get a new crankshaft. total cost is around 1100, and my wife and i have to take a few days off of work cuz we're stuck in L.A. simply cuz the mechanic who did the initial work probably did not have the right tools and fucked with my car. on monday i'm going to take some pics and i'll try to post them. any opinions? and ideas?

mods:
gst exhaust, iceman intake, af/x udp, accell wires, ngk bkre511

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STOCK UDP!!!!!!!!!!!! The stock pulley on your car is just a crank pulley. UDP means under drive pulley, which means its smaller so it turns 30% slower than the stock one. Sorry just one of my pet pieves. Id go to the mechanic where you had the UDP installed and tell him to either fix it or pay to have it fixed.

Well unfortunately it sounds like there isn't much you can do but replace the crankshaft. I would be givin hell to whoever put on your UDP originally..make them pay for the damage. Getting them to pay up won't be easy either..but for 1100 bucks, it might be worth it. I'm not sure what they used to take off the stock pulley, but damn, it takes a lot of torque to bend the crank! :o

as long as u have a receipt for the work done while installin the UDP and removal of the origional crankshaft dampner pulley, u should be in the clear.

i am sorry for u, and wish u good luck.
the shop that Fd up your udp install should reimburse u for the $ spent replacing the damage they caused emoji

good luck
