#21439, "Crane Ignition Install and CEL (long)"

I put in my HI-6 last night w/ the old style tach adapters. I fired it up and everything was fine. I shut it back down and put everything back together. Then the battery was dead (which makes no sense b/c it was out the whole time I was installing). but, I jumped it and it started after a little bit.

But, I got a CEL. Now, given it could be due to something else, but nothing else has changed. I installed the tach adapters as below. This is correct, isn't it? any other ideas as to what I could have done? Would jumping it cause this? The manual describes a capacitor on the coil, but I didn't see one. The Crane instructions say to remove any caps. Has anyone else done this?

diagram:

ECU ---> HI-6 ----> coil
______^
tach adapters (2) spliced in between ECU and hi-6. one adapter tapped to red wire and green wire. the other to the red wire and white wire.
(as shown in diagram 5 on crane's site)
